A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent addresses under the very same domain. For example, a message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all option for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
